Deputy Governor of Osun State, Otunba Titi Laoye-To-mori has adopted a 26-year old lady, Aisat Abdul-Salam, who claimed that other members of her family have been murdered by Boko Haram sect in Kangarama, Kastina state.
The lady who appeared on Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) Television, claimed that her father before his death told her that the family hailed from Iwo, Osun State and her mother from Oyo town.
Narrating her ordeal, Aisat said: “I thought the end has come when my five brothers, a sister, mother and father lost their lives in an attack by Boko Haram. My family has been living in Kangaram for a very long time and we never visited Iwo. I don’t know any of my parents’ relations or our family houses at Iwo or Oyo.”
“On the fateful day, my brother Wasiu came to Kangarama to inform my parents about his graduation from Kwara State Polytechnic and this made our mother to ask me and Sodiq, our last born to go and buy Tuwo for Wasiu. As we were returning with the food, we heard a loud blast of bomb at the direction of our house and the house was immediately in flames.”
“As I was running helter-skelter with Sodiq, a stray bullet hit him on the leg. We were later rescued by a man who put us in a hole in his house because if it was discovered that the man rescued us they would kill the three of us. In the midnight of that day, we were taken to the garage by the man and he handed us to the traders coming to Ore, Ondo State.”
“Sodiq died the second day when we got to Ore. But I was deceived that a doctor had taken him to Osogbo for treatment, that was how I got to Osogbo .A good Samaritan took me to OSBC where I told Nigerians my ordeal and predicament”, she narrated.
Moved by the story of the young lady, the deputy governor offered to adopt her with a view to rehabilitate her and make her live a better life.
